Natural Dye Day 2024

Demonstrating as part of the Boneyard Arts Festival 2024

As spinners and weavers, we are lucky enough to have the ability to start with a raw material—fleece fresh off the sheep—and turn it into a finished piece of cloth ready to be worn. We had members showing all steps of the spinning and weaving process, including preparing fiber, spinning it into yarn, and weaving the yarn into cloth. By watching the process from beginning to end, we hoped that people gained a better understanding of what goes into making cloth, whether it is made by hand or by machine.

We also had demonstrations of other fiber arts, including knitting, crochet, felting, and more!
