As part of the Boneyard Arts Festival, we will be demonstrating at the Champaign Public Library, Room C.
As spinners and weavers, we are lucky enough to have the ability to start with a raw material—fleece fresh off the sheep—and turn it into a finished piece of cloth ready to be worn. We will have members showing all steps of the spinning and weaving process, including preparing fiber, spinning it into yarn, and weaving the yarn into cloth. By watching the process from beginning to end, we hope that people will gain a better understanding of what goes into making cloth, whether it is made by hand or by machine.
