2019-2020 Programs

Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month unless otherwise noted. The meeting starts with our program at 6:30 pm followed by a short business meeting and social time with snacks.  Meetings are generally held at the Champaign Public Library. Exceptions to this schedule will be noted here, in the newsletter and on our Facebook page.

September: Tuesday, September 10 – Room B at CPL, 6:30 – 8:30: Welcome back meeting will feature information tables with guild activity coordinators. The goal is to help new members and current members learn about what the guild does and give everyone an opportunity get involved as our year begins.

October: Thursday, October 3 – (Please note the day and date change!) – Rooms A & B, CPL, 6:30 – 8:30: Mary Sue Fenner from Cut n Sew Weaving workshop will be the guest speaker.

November: Tuesday, November 12 – Room B CPL, 6:00 – 8:30: Member Jackie Corlett will talk about her business involving crafts from Bangladesh

December: Saturday, December 7 – (Please note the day, date, and location change!). Guild Christmas party at Trisha Crowley’s house, 6:00 pm. If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Trisha at [email protected].  Address will be provided closer to the event.

January: Sunday, January 26 – (Please note the day, date, and location change!) Spurlock Museum, 600 S Gregory St, Urbana, IL 61801, 1:30 pm. We will be given a tour of Spurlock’s curated exhibit, “In Her Closet – How to Make a Drag Queen.” A short business meeting will follow.

February: Tuesday, February 11 – Room B, CPL, 6:30 -8:30. Member Kiri Fagen-Ulmschneider who received a Guild Education grant to attend Vävstuga Weaving School in Massachusett, will talk to the Guild about her experience.

March: Tuesday, March 10 – 6:30 – 8:30, Hessel Park Christian Church. (Please note the location change) Robyn Spady, the Weaving Retreat and Workshop Leader, will be the guest speaker.

April: Tuesday, April 14, 6:30 – 8:30, Hessel Park Christian Church. (Please note the location change) Annual election of officers and member Dottie Wolgemuth will present a program on Knitting for Charity and will tell us about her work developing reproducible colors by mixing commercial dyes.

May: Tuesday, May 12 – 5:00 – 8:00, Crystal Lake Park Lake House (please note time and location change). Potluck Picnic and installation of officers for next year. Dinner begins at 6:00.
